2005 Sea Smoke Ten Sta Rita Hills 14.9% alc.
Short decant. Ruby and purple color.
Strawberries, cherries, tea, spice, pomegranate, some tartness that blew off over a few hours.
Still has good acidity, but on the mature. Should have a few more years ahead of it.
Nice entry and mid palate. Finish comes a bit short.
My first year purchasing from Sea Smoke. Still get a few every year. I think these need a few years of age to show how good these can be. I opened an 2008 Southing a few months back and it was a huge wine. What I have will rest for a few more years.
