TN: 2005 Scarecrow Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, Rutherford)

At Bocado with Atlanta Vielle Vignes. Others will probably rate this higher. I though it showed terrific fruit and nice structure. The wine is not slepping at all right now and in contrast with the 97 Insignia it was served with, I though it showed terrific. The fruit was very juicy, ripe plums and berries and them softend to a supple feel in my mouth that really surprised for a wie this young. I think with aging the fruit will deepen and the more underlying flavors will come out. I am glad we decided to pull this one out. I probably would have waited for something with this kind of drinking window. I am very confident going forward that I want to continue buying this wine. (94 pts.)

Had this a few months ago and was very pleased…a huge reputation to live up to and I felt that it did just that. I posted a note and like you was just amazed at the amount of tannin yet the roundness and how approachable the wine was.

Darin,
The biggest issue now, when to drink the other two. Three years? Five years? Ten? I will be monitoring TN’s to see where it goes seeing as how I only get the three pack.
