TN: 2005 Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux w/ a 2007 Roulot Bourgogne Blanc starter..

  • 2005 Domaine Guy Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (12/18/2009)
Went from a '07 Roulot Bourg Blanc to this. What a difference! Creamy peach, apple, melon fruit…tarted up with lemons and green apple skin. Just flows over the palate. Wonderful nuances of hazelnuts, spice cake batter, smoky flint chalk, white flower honey butter. Nice spice kick…really creamy(more so than the Les Vireuils)…plenty of minerals. I just can’t ask for more out of Chardonnay? What great pleasure…can’t even fathom what the big guns are like??? Super stuff! (95 pts.)

Had along with the '05 Roulot Meursault Les Meix Chavaux…and you really can tell the difference! The BB is a killer starter though. Gives you a little snapshot of what you are in for with Roulot Meursault. Crisp, clean, minerals, flint and lemons…classic Roulot flavors. TOTALLY happy drinking this wine…while waiting for an occasion to pop the Meursault! Btw…this is the 6th bottle of this I’ve had…and it continues to get better. (91 pts.)

dude - it is too cold to drink white Burgs today!

NEVER too cold to drink Roulot! Also sippin on some 2007 Oakville Winery Zin and Smith Woodhouse Porto Lodge Reserve Port.

You gettin your car worked on today??? [drinkers.gif]

We got a ton of Roulot in just recently - I ment to call you about it, but they disappeard FAST!

BTW - glad to see you’re drinking more Port!

I had to laugh…well, I kind of had to choke it down. Not as good as a Vintage Port, like the Graham’s we had last…I can only muster a couple sips at a time!

Hope all is well…

Just got to try this in vintage 2000 - absolutely smoking good Meursault. flirtysmile
