2005 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/14/2009)
Ruby red in color. Perfumed and heady on the nose. Pure and clean on the palate, this has an upfront red fruited profile of red cherries and raspberries as well as some currants and kirsch. A beautiful lush texture with a slightly elevated but in control acid level. A big and chewy tannin level makes this a candidate for cellaring for at least 2 to 4 years. Slightly hot on the finish this is surely a youngster with promise. From a half bottle, and I will get some more. (91 pts.)
Thanks for posting on this Mike. I tried one of these on release and there was alot of alcohol up front. I was hoping it would calm down and have been waiting to try another, I will give it more time.
Have you tried the '05 Ramey Larkmead Cab ? I think it needs more time too.
I don’t see many notes on the Ramey Cabs but I sure love their Chards.
