2005 Provenance Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville (1/6/2010)
I bought four more of these on sale at Wades. Popped and poured at The Counter with a gourmet burger. First the burger: A 2/3 lb beef burger with pepper jack cheese, bacon, sauteed onions, bbq sauce, lettuce, scallions, on a wheat bun, served with a side of sweet potato fries; a perfect pairing!
The wine was, as before, fruit forward, plenty of tannins, and notes of coffee/mocha, currant, oak, and blackberry. I did not get any vegetal taste or green pepper as has been reported by others. Very nice finish. (93 pts.)
