    Stinky nose - took an hour to taper off. Light contours and austere. Too tart, sharp and stemmy. Really disappointed with this bottle as I am a big fan of Peay. Will revisit tomorrow but not encouraged by todays showing. Enjoyed Bruma more. (84 pts.)

Any more description of “stinky”? True, the 05 vintage was a leaner one for Peay syrah, but I don’t remember it being quite out there as you’ve described. To my knowledge, they destem all the grapes, so there shouldn’t be any particular stemminess. Well, haven’t had one of these in over a year, will have to open one and see what it’s doing.

i have enjoyed La Bruma more thru both the 04 & 05 vintages but just barely. off bottle?

maybe an off bottle but looking at CT - there seems to be variation in descriptions of this bottling…
