TN: 2005 Pax Rosé (USA, California, Sonoma County)

What?..you don’t age your Rose’s?? Opened my last bottle of this, from release, on a whim. I tell you what…it’s still damn drinkable! Pretty color! Some funky rubber plastic on the nose…maybe from the composite cork? Smoked strawberry and asphalt, earth tones, cinnamon spice…to complex up the pretty darn fresh red berry fruits(raspberry/cherry/strawberry/rhubarb)…even has a blood orange tingle of acidity. The wine is still bright and transparent…drinks more like a cold, lighter grenache from the Rhone…little clipped on the finish. I like this wine! It’s fun…wish I had more! (91 pts.)

My man-love for Mr Buzz is boundless.

I consumed cases of this back in the day. I have had a hard time finding a real replacement a Rose with some Umpff. Settled on Rochioli Rose of Pinot but would love to find a closer match (SQN doesn’t count)

I had the same bottle about a year ago and agree 100% with your notes. In my case mine even sat in my garage beer frig for the better part of a decade

I drank gallons of this. Was my go-to one summer. Late summer, found it in Magnums.

Envious.
