2005 O’Shaughnessy Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder - USA, California, Napa Valley, Mt. Veeder (8/14/2009)
WIML93-94
Tasted August 14, 2009 at the winery.
Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Attractive nose of thistle, dust, tobacco and black cherries. Rich and juicy flavors of black cherries, black berries and notes of boysenberry on the medium to long finish. Medium to bright acidity, firm tannins, full bodied. Hold for at least 5-7 years and try then. Should be a long lived wine. O’Shaughnessy managed a couple of really good hits with their 2005 Howell Mountain and Mt. Veeder but I’m giving a slight edge to the Mr. Veeder. (93 pts.)
