TN: 2005 Manoir de la Tête Saumur Bagatelle

  • 2005 Manoir de la Tête Saumur Bagatelle - France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur (6/3/2009)
Popped and poured, which may have been a mistake. Heavy on the burnt rubber, light on the cherries and rose petals on the nose. Not a whole lot on the attack or midpalate. Tart finish with drying tannins. All I can say is hold on to these if you have any.

In the interest of science (and my pledge to post more TNs). I hope this helps anyone wondering if they should pop one of these Cab Francs from Garagiste.

Stored in a half for Day 2 and retasted a small amount, no difference to above note.

Left in half bottle until day 3: The burnt rubber is not as prominent, but there is basically no nose. This wine is much more subtle with Cherries and tartness on the attack, midpalate and finish. Mouth drying tannins are in check. Nothing to write home about. Not sure if I get Cab Franc, but I will keep trying…
