TN: 2005 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Rocheux

  • 2005 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Rocheux - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (2/10/2012)
nose: pretty and perfumed nose of roses, red fruits, berries, some plums, spice and some bits of smoke tones lying underneath. Very well balanced with a good freshness and purity to it

taste: Feminine, elegant, and rather pretty on the palate with nice medium acidity. Very well defined with pure tones of red fruits, roses, some bits of violets, and spice tones. There is a nice refinement to this on the palate

overall: This is well formed on the palate. It can still go a few more years as it is still fairly primary. Well balanced with a dark ruby red color to it. The acidity is held very well in check as well right now. (92 pts.)

Thanks for the note, Keith. Sounds tasty, and still in need of more time. This is my general perception of many of the better '05 Oregon Pinots. I had the ‘07 Rocheux twice this past summer and it was Rockin’ on both occasions.
