Even though this hails from Cote de Nuits, it comes off tasting like a Pommard.
Solid showing, with pine needles, earth and autumnal scents - also an ore-y element. Fruit and minerality both well-balanced, this is still open for drinking, though a touch firm on the back end.
I’ve been a fan of F. Magnien for quite a while but for some reason I can’t seem to jump on board with the other Magnien (Michael?? I think it’s his father or something.)
Had the 07 Echezeaux and Bonnes-Mares the other day at a tasting, thought both were excellent. I don’t buy wine that expensive however and have a hard time saying if they are worth $200 and 250 respectively.
