2005 Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges (4/15/2016)
From 375ml, and still closed in and tannic. I should have expected this from old schools Gouges.

Especially a 2005. My closed rate for even village wines from that vintage from variety of producers has been very high.
Thanks for data point. Glad it was just a 375!
I had a small taste of the 05 Clos des Porrets St. Georges a few weeks ago and it was surprisingly open and outright delicious. Quite a bit of tannic backbone, but a lot of fruit to cover that. Don’t know how that bottle had been prepared and I sure wouldn’t open one at home right now, but at that moment it was great.
