2005 Domaine Carneros Brut - USA, California, Napa Valley, Carneros (1/1/2009)
Aromas of bread dough, green apples, and chalk. Light and delicate on the palate with notes of green apples, ginger and minerals. Slightly metallic finish. A fair sparkling wine with low dosage, but it seems to lack some intensity and is depth and a step down in quality from the 2004 vintage. 87-88 points. (87 pts.)
It’s been a while since I had a Domaine Carneros sparkler - perhaps I’ll wait and pick up some '06.
if you can find any of the 2004s still floating around, then i would recommend trying that. very nice bubbly for about $20.
