Decanted for an hour straight out of the cellar and allowed to reach room temperature. Darker ruby color. So much going on with the nose: almost searing high-pitched violets, black raspberry, plum pits, earth, meaty tones, and bits of camphor. Deceptively softened texture on the palate nonetheless revealing relatively complex layers of red raspberry trimmed with black fruits, iron, gentle meatiness, and wild sauvage. Refreshing acidity and smoothed tannin leading to a long finish of satiny red fruits, ferric notes, and slow grip. Love this wine, it’s definitely ready and punches like a premier. (92 pts.)
