TN: 2005 Collovray & Terrier Mâcon-Villages Domaine des Deux Roches at Davaye Tradition

What a pleasant surprise. Bought these on a whim from Garagiste 2 years ago and just cracked the first bottle last night. Previous notes referring to apple on the nose are consistent with this bottle. On the palate the apple is present and there is also wonderful minerality and bracing acidity that made this an excellent compliment to our roasted chicken dinner. This is probably the best $14.00 bottle of wine that I’ve had. (90 pts.)

My first TN on Berserkers. Be kind please [dance2.gif]

No need to be kind - that’s a great note!

I’m sad when I miss the great Garagiste finds like this…I seem to get a mixed bag from there. The roasted chicken seems like the perfect pairing as well. Nicely done.

Thanks much for the note. I recently posted a note on C&T’s 07 Bourgogne “Tradition,” which was similarly excellent and a killer QPR. As you say, the minerality and “bracing acidity” were quite impressive, especially at this level.

I’ll be looking for more from this producer.
