TN: 2005 Château Greysac (France, Bordeaux, Médoc) $12

  • 2005 Château Greysac - France, Bordeaux, Médoc (12/19/2009)
This was marked down from $25 to $12 at the local grocer. I bought two and opened one. Ruby/purple in color. The wine took about an hour to open up and show much. The nose has cherries, cassis and cigar tobacco. some bell pepper with air. On the palate, this is medium weight and easy to drink. Not much complexity but it is good. Not super ripe. A surprising lack of tannins. I will go back for more but I am drinking these up in the next 3 to 5 years. (87 pts.)

Just snagged two of them at the local Costco, $12.99 what a deal! [training.gif]

One of my favorite supper clubs in rural Wisconsin carries this for $25/bottle. We’ve enjoyed a few bottles paired with great Tbone steaks. I would agree with your description. It is a solid Bordeaux for the price.

A local little cute french Bistro called Zinc Bistro in North Scottsdale carries this wine by the glass for $14.00 a glass. Such a deal. A simple, medium bodied quaffer and nothing more.
