2005 Chasseur Pinot Noir Blank Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/18/2009)
A very full and vibrant nose of dark berries, cedar, and rhubarb sauce - I enjoyed the nose very much on this wine, as it was both unique and enjoyable. High acidity with a rather full mouthfeel at the same time. Sour fruits, lots of blackberries and raspberries, gravel on the palate, covering the high abv(14.9% stated, I’m guessing a bit more) nicely, and a finish of much the same, adding a touch of oak. Very nice wine, and quite unique. I look forward to the other SVD Chasseurs in the cellar, as they seem to be in a very good space right now. (92 pts.)
