2005 Cedarville Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - USA, California, Sierra Foothills, El Dorado (2/28/2009)
1 hour decant. Concentrated red fruits on the nose and palate, touch of eucalyptus and vanilla oak on the finish. Great acidity that balances well with the red fruit profile, mouthfeel is not quite plush but very light on its feet. Tannins start to show themselves with more air. Great wine with food and fantastic QPR with 10 or more years of life ahead of it. (91 pts.)
I’m constantly amazed by the QPR of Cedarville wines, and this bottle continues that trend. I spent $23 on this (with release and case discounts - MSRP is $29), and I wouldn’t think twice about blind tasting it against any $50 Napa Cab. Nicely balanced and eminently drinkable, I love Jonathan and Susan’s wines because they are simply a pleasure to drink with no pretension or guilt.
