Rustic notes over woody rich fruit. Rich and well fruited for such a bargain wine. Plenty of tannin but fairly inexpressive on the palate. I think there is plenty of wood to pick up the palate some. Mouth filling with decent balance. Hard to do much better for $7 daily drinkers. Good buy.

Tried this at a WineX Features Tasting. Another nice wine on the low end of pricing.

Had this last year. It was the 04 though. Thought it to be frankly sweet, one-dimensional and simple. That said, for about $13 for a 1.5L, this is a decent buy for a picnic or sangria making.
