    Now this is truly terrific, proudly Californian pinot noir. Dark ruby red color with a hint of lightening at the edges. On the nose the wine gives a wonderful bouquet of strawberry, pine, spice, something faintly floral, and a very subtle darker, earthy element. Man, that’s enough for me to love a wine right there! In the mouth the wine is beautifully balanced and in the zone, with good red fruit and a hint of minerals integrated with a medium mouth feel and very very nice acid balance. Just great. What’s not to like? (92 pts.)

Barnet, nice. I really like this bottling and have for some time. Been a while since I drank one, having drank my last 2004 a few weeks ago.

05 was a magical year for Ed at August West and Freeman…his 05 Freeman “Keefer” was rocking the boat good at Pinot Days in late June.
