TN: 2004 Selbach-Oster Zeltinger Sonnenhuhr Kabinett

From a screwcapped bottle. Highly engaging nose of cinnamon spice and earth. I enjoy savoring the entertaining aroma and am in no hurry to take more sips.

This bottle is a little more integrated than one open last year. Medium bodied and close to a classic Spatlese in style, the flavors of lime and earth linger for a good long while. I adore the 2004 acidity and it is perfect in its supporting role. Drinking great now with upside potential.

Sounds fantastic. That was early in the Selbach journey with screw caps, so good to hear they got it right.

David this is fresh as a daisy. In impeccable shape for a 10 year old.

Great post, I am continually on the look-out for Selbach wines and have been stocking up on a few the past few months. Mainly new releases that I think will need some cellaring. I am quite keen on this one>

Bob, I have had very few 11’s and was not thrilled with them. They were on the soft side.

$32 for a Kabinett seems high.

Selbach-Oster wines have a clarity to them that is very appealing.

Alberta wine prices are abominable.
