TN: 2004 Rombauer Vineyards - Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

NOSE: oaky with run-of-the mill purple fruits (very grapey); a note of sour cherry lurks in the background with a slight faintness of alcohol.

BODY: lots of fine particulate matter; garnet color of moderate depth, with the slightest bit of bricking beginning at the edges; medium bodied.

TASTE: solid, but lacking pizzaz – tastes like a good new world Bdx blend; hint of cedary spice; sour cherry and chocolate; refreshing acidity, but the drying tannins still dominate the finish; finish is approx. 35 sec. in length; hint of leather in the background; no green streak that I find in many Cabs. This still needs some time.

B: 50, 5, 11, 15, 7 = (88 pts.)
