TN: 2004 Provenance - Cabernet Sauvignon

5/22/2009

NOSE: rich bouquet of syrupy blackberries, bread dough, and French oak; hints of dark brown dirt, sweet leather, and chocolate add complexity.

BODY: rustic ruby color of medium-deep depth; clear; (forgot to note weight of wine).

TASTE: anise, blackberries, gentle oak, and a little bit of leather on the full, well-balanced palate; this puppy is stuffed, and I believe this could easily improve over the next 10 years; finish is long (55 sec.) with good intensity; a bit hot on the finish; palate is not as complex as the bouqet. Very nice wine … I would love to taste this a decade from now. If you like your Cabs young, there’s nothing wrong with drinking now … if you like 'em aged, this one will age well.
