2004 Peay Vineyards Syrah La Bruma - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (4/24/2017)
Dark garnet color, showing little signs of age; meaty, volcanic crushed fruit nose, then good, medium intense dark fruit, crushed rocks, a hint of sweetness from the warmer vintage, nicely balancing acidity, and some fine but noticeable tannins. Quite delicious now in its adolescence, but destined to go another decade at least before reaching full maturity. Quintessential California Syrah. (92 pts.)
