TN: 2004 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Couchereaux

Starts off showing some of TPCTSND but give the wine a little time to breathe up and it is quite tasty. The nose shows some Sichuan pepper, juniper berry and red currants. It is not generous but has a lacy texture. It has a tart berry snap with a little quinine bitterness to the finish and the overall package worked well with spicy barbequed quail.

I know you want someone to ask what TPCTSND is.

That Particular Character That Stuart Niemtzow Despises

LOL

I had the 09 of this on Friday and it was quite good. Glad to hear the 04 wasn’t green.

It was.

TPCTSND = That Particular Character That Stuart Niemtzow Despises = meanie greenie

04 Rousseau Clos de la Roche was “sans verde” recently to my palate.

LOL. My guess was “The Peculiar Character That Stuart Never Drinks.”

I’d say the peculiar character that Stuart has too much of…and hopes not to have to drink.
