TN: 2004 La Spinetta (Rivetti) Langhe Nebbiolo Starderi (Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Langhe DOC)

Dark ruby, but the cloudiness I noticed last time seems to have settled out. Beginnings of a little bricking at the edges. Alcohol and a little funk on the nose. Tar. Not getting much fruit yet, but it may have to warm up. (Just came from the cellar @57°.)
Lots of swirling and hand warming the bowl, I’m now getting spicy flowers and cedar. Light sour cherry, lacking a bit on the mid-palate. Tannins have smoothed out considerably, but the fruit is fading as predicted. I think these are drink sooner rather than later (87 pts.)

Interesting that this Nebbiolo is not showing the typicity of the '04 Barolos, with extreme florals on the nose, and it also seems opposite of a Barolo (from '04) in that it already seems to be fading away, whereas the '04 Barolos are rather big and need time to settle.

Nice notes, thanks.
