Was going to do this side-by-side with a bottle of the 2003, but the 2003 was badly corked. A shame. There are some volatile acidity issues on occasion with the 03 and 04 Estate here, but the 04 was a gorgeous and clean bottle. Absolutely fantastic.
2004 Joseph Swan Vineyards Pinot Noir Trenton Estate - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (10/3/2017)
14.5% alcohol. Perfectly clean bottle of this wine. Gorgeous nose that is just classic Trenton Estate. Bright cherry, spice, and earth notes. Sumptuous and velvety on the palate. This has hit its second stage beautifully – just glides across your tongue with juicy cherry fruit, bolstered by dusty earth and spice. Good acidity still. Long, integrated finish. Should be good to go for another 3-5 years. A
