2004 Guillemot Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru "Serpentieres"
Aroma: Hard, vegetal
On the palate: Green. Green, green, green. Green, green, green, green, green, green, green, green. Finish is unpleasantly green.
Notes: Guillemot is a producer that, until now, I have had good luck with. For example even the 2003’s may be a bit primary and fruity, but it’s not bad wine. This was the first of six bottles, and it’s the only 2004 Red Burgundy I purchased. It was a bit of a shock. Spoke to my local retailer about them and they took back the bottles.
Haven’t tried the wine in question but I’ve had my share of 04’s that fit that description
Too bad but good on the retailer. I have had better luck with 04s than most … although I have had very few bottles and I am not adverse to a little green as long as they are not mean.

Agreed. Don’t mind lean at all. I like Loire Cab Franc and Red Burgundies. But with this wine there were No Redeeming Qualities. ![[bleh.gif] [bleh.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/c/cbb27a94fa73081862abf910a8bfa05e2ae2f5c3.gif)
