2004 Frédéric Magnien Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Genevrières - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits (2/19/2009)
I picked up a few cases of this based on the recomendation of a good friend, Geoff Williams. At the all in price of $8 per bottle how could I go wrong? Great nose, more earthy then New World Pinot’s, fruity, with surprising mouth drying tannins and a bit of pepper on the short finnish. While this wine will never win any awards it is great for what it is. (87 pts.)

Nice. At 8$ that would work well for me. I wonder if the tannins will soften.

They might but I don’t think the fruit will last till it does. This is a drink now wine. I have gone through almost all of them and there is some bottle variation but for the price it is worth it. I would say 90% of the wine has been good, 5% ok and the other 5% down the drain.
By the way this was $8 with shipping so I think it was 5.99 per before shipping. PC had it on sale back in Jan you might still find some there.
Allow me sir.

Well, I gotta admit, when I clicked on the thread I had no idea it would turn out like this. ![berserker [berserker.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/8/8600bbd4810d342b8fbd4ffb62b4f0026275fd37.gif)
But seriously, I like F.Magnien. Enjoyed the 04 Gevrey Les Seuvrees even more than the 05. Will have to check out the bourgognes.
Again Alan, nothing transcendental but like Sean said, at $8 or so a very decent drink.
