TN: 2004 Favia Syrah Sal y Miel (USA, California, Sonoma County, Bennett Valley)

Got to try and keep pace with Mike Dildine…setting a new land speed syrah record… [welldone.gif]

Popped and poured, drank over 3 hours. Really needs a decant, but it was interesting to experience the profound changes that this wine went through. 1st taste: Smoky nose upon opening, muted fruit and clipped finish. 2nd glass: smoky, dusty nose, black fruits emerge, roasted meats, black olives. 3rd glass: full on explosion of dark fruits, salinity, iron, fragrant flowers on the nose, ridiculously long finish. Glad to own more of this wine!
