At our Saturday wine lunch last weekend, we mostly had white wines. But knowing that we would order risotto, a few red Burgs. came out, and this was one of them. As I recall, it was pop and pour. A medium reddish color, with lovely aromatics–cherry, cinnamon, cake spice, and a bit of underbrush. The taste follows the nose, with a medium weight midpalate, and good fruit/acid balance. Not overly tannic, but still plenty of somewhat chewy tannins that could use some smoothing out and integration.
Not yet quite complex enough for a “wow,” but it certainly has the potential. My WAG is that it will improve with cellaring for at least 4-6 years. Good stuff!
