2004 Château Branas Grand-Poujeaux - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc (4/13/2011)
Black at the core, with a purple rim. Appealing nose showing black currant, plum and some espresso. Very approachable wine. Full bodied with more plums and brooding black fruits. Tobacco and some earth. Wonderfully balanced. This shows all of that dark fruit and brooding elements, but it is cut with acidity. The tannins are silky smooth and the length is just amazing.
This is in a great place for such a young wine. It really strikes a chord with me of hitting that right note between complexity worth pondering and pleasant drinking.
