TN: 2004 Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva

2004 Bodegas Muga Rioja Reserva

Popped and poured with dinner last night.

70% tempranillo, 20% garnacha, 10% graciano/mazuelo

Classic nose full of leather, dry soil, sweet plum and oak. Extremely tannic with a long, mouth-coating finish; definitely needs food at this stage.

Overall, this is just a baby and needs a minimum of 5 or more years to come together. A fantastic QPR at $20.

Thanks for the note. It has been a year since I had this wine but I liked it a lot. I’m with you on the timing. Not touching another bottle until at least 2012.

At $20, you got it at a real good price, seeing it for $32 + our new 6.25% state sales tax on top of that - still on quite a few shelves…maybe it’s the pricing in MA?

Its $19.99 at winex.
