TN: 2003 Quinta dos Roques - Dão Reserva (Portugal, Beiras, Dão)

NOSE: tart and juicy black cherry and red currant aromas; hints of minty cement and spice (oak?); with time, notes of roast beef jus and orange oil emerged; quite expressive.

BODY: purple-black-red color of medium-deep depth; medium-full bodied.

TASTE: non-descript purple/red fruits; hints of mint, tertiary fruit leather, smoke, and spice; moderate concentration of fruit; fruit comes across as a little roasted; drying tannin; a bit hollow on back of mid-palate; tastes young, but I worry the tannin will outlast the fruit; alcohol is not noticeable; could use more acidity. Drink now – 2017.

Are you prepping for your trip? [cheers.gif]

We’ll be zipping thru London in exactly 2 weeks, and then off to Spain. I will be sure to remember to have some Sherry too.

Pretty much … yeah. [blush.gif] [grin.gif]

Get some Oloroso VORS or Palo Cortado VORS for your sherry fix! [cheers.gif]
