TN: 2003 QC Red, 2004 Leoville Poyferre, 1999 Fife cabernet

2003 QC red wine: Giant nose of coffee, chocolate and mushrooms. Still young and somewhat hot on the nose. The palate is full bodied and creamy, with earth, mushrooms, rhubarb and dark berries. Massive tannins that dry out the palate. Still young but very pleasurable.

2004 LP: Im not a Bordeaux fan but I have some for friends who enjoy them.
Gorgeous dark red in the glass. The nose opens up with about 3 hours of air into raw steak marinated in sage, parsley, thyme and balsamic vinegar. At first some soy sauce but that blew away. The palate is midium bodied with some underripe plums and more balsamic. Lots of acid and very fine grain tannins. Certainly a wine that makes you think, but Id like more fruit. DUH

1999 Fife: Big cab nose with a little wet earth. I expected this to be half dead. Its not. The palate is medium bodied with a lot of sweet plums and cranberries. The tannins are certainly resolved and the wine is not terribly complex, but its very enjoyable. Drink if U got em.

Killer of babies. I like it.

Just like Mr. Norris.
Killing a Janasse Chaupin 07 tomorrow…bwhahahahaha!

Humberto, how long did you decant the QC?

An hour at most…it was spur of the moment. The first few sips had nothing.
