    From magnum. Deep red with no color loss at all. Lots of fruit, but alcohol heat as well that impacts the pleasure of the wine. Without the out-of-balance alcohol, this would rate much higher. #88 pts.)

John - Thank you for the note. Last tried this - I think - four years or so ago and even then the alcohol seemed pronounced as the fruit started to fade. When these first came out the fruit was big. It seemed more in balance: big fruit, big alcohol. It was not subtle but it was pleasing! I believe I have one left. I will open it soon, pop and pour, and make sure we finish the bottle in one evening.

There was still a ton of fruit in this bottle, which was a magnum, so YMMV in a 750. But it was hard to get past the alcohol.
