This is the regular cab. It has been 2 years since I last had one. At that time it was showing good stuff, but too tightly wound and needing time to open up. So I took a bottle to Capital Grille last night to have with some steak. The years have shined on the wine and should continue to do so for some time. The wine was decanted but drank quickly. It had very nice cocoa dust and dark berries. The fruit was very nice without being overripe. The tannins were present and on first taste they seemed like the might dominate, but they didn’t. They should integrate a little more with some additional time, and I will leave my other bottles for another year at least to wait for that to happen. But the wine is still very good now if you want to open one and check in on it.
Great note, Bruce. Thanks for posting it.
I’m a fan.
Me too. I’ve got 2 mags of this just screaming for a corkscrew!!!
Wow… CT tells me I haven’t opened one of these in 3 years!! Thanx for the reminder…sounds like it’s in a good place now.
I just checked CT. It’s been 3 years for me as well.
Enjoying this exact wine now, while on my Noo Yawk roof garden, during this balmy, dry, and sunny autumn afternoon. Great wine for just $45 or less.
