Checking in on some 2003 BDX – no decant. Very typical '03 caramel / brûlé notes on the nose. Some mint comes out after a while. The nose is so effusive you expect (a lot) more on the palate. Very lightweight, feminine and even a bit washed out on the palate. Not very generous and definitely not the rich fruit bomb this was young. Finish is short. A little troubling. I’ll come back to it in a few days when I can spend some more time with it to see if that helps…
