Needed something to sip on while I watch the Ravens game. I went to grab a bottle of this for a wine tasting about a month ago and noticed that one of the bottles was leaking. So I brought a better bottle for the tasting and kept the leaker around for early consumption. I bought a 6 pack of this over a year ago. Distributor dump…$5 a bottle! It was actually cheaper to buy this wine (which is their top of the line bottling) then it was to buy their lowest level wine. No brainer there!
2003 - Donato D’Angelo Aglianico - Little bit of funk at first on the nose with tobacco, black cherry, leather, and oak. Juicy raspberry and black cherry fruits on the palate with some stern drying tannin coming in. Good balance of fruit and earth. The last bottle of this was more open. Air will be this wines friend. I’ll update if needed.
