2003 Domaine Francois et Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (1/9/2010)
Starts out pretty rich, oily, slight sign of sherry…but let it open…still pretty rich yellow fruited wine, slight waxy, kind of mellow…but with a little coaxing, you get a very nice honeyed spice, lemon creme brulee, crushed stones, hazelnut caramel, chalk dust. KILLER flavors when you get to them…more creamy and lush than I’m use to with Meursault. I don’t think there is any pox in this, but I do get some aged sherry notes, which in a 7 year old wine might be appropriate. Nice wine…pretty good dose of lemons and minerals…but can see the effects of the hotter '03 Vintage. Drink them now. (91 pts.)
