2003 Curran Syrah Reeves Ranch - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (12/15/2010)
This is my last of 3 of this beauty. It does not take long in the glass to start strutting its stuff. Delish!! the color is a beautiful inky garnet. The nose is spicy and fruity with blackberry and a touch of vanilla. The flavors are in balance and complex. Tart, fresh dark fruits and spice with a tannic backbone and a touch of bitterness. This wine is drinking well but I would say it is still in its adolescence with 5 more years to go. Sorry to call this my last bottle but the journey has been a pleasant one. Salute! (94 pts.)
