2003 Château Les Justices Sauternes - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (5/30/2009)
– bottle opened immediately before tasting –
– tasted a single glass non-blind over 30 minutes –
– wine was served slightly chilled –
NOSE: strong orange peel; light botrytis spice with a hint of clove; a hint of soap, or perhaps lavender (?)
BODY: golden yellow color of moderate depth; medium-full bodied.
TASTE: medium-high botrytis on the palate; lush mouthfeel; slight rum taste; a bit fat, but the acidity is there; 35-40 sec. finish. I ordered a glass of this at a restaurant, so I don’t know how much it costs, but I would be curious to find out. This is a solid Sauternes.
B: 50, 5, 12, 16, 7 = (90 pts.)
