2003 Brewer-Clifton Chardonnay Mount Carmel - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills - Sta. Rita Hills (8/2/2009)
Drank with halibut in a miso, shitake, snap pea and corn broth. Color was a golden straw color suggesting a little age and a little new oak. Nose was green apples, pear and oak spice. The palate is rich yet crisp with meyer lemon, pear, spice and a little honeysuckle with some crushed, wet rock. Finish is a touch clipped which is about the only knock on this wine. Very tasty though and definitely in the middle of its prime drinking window. (92 pts.)
