2002 Vincent Girardin Corton-Charlemagne - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (7/31/2009)
nose: brings the depth that one would expect from a grand cru with beautiful tones of pears, white fruits, baking oils, bits of white florals and a real nice touch of tart green apples and some tones of minerals. Lovely and starts to reveal more as it opens up
taste: great medium/full body with well balanced and classy tones of white fruits, pears, bits of peaches, white florals, peach blossoms, minerals, and some bits of apples. tasty medium+ acidity shows itself, but its not intrusive and is certainly coming across in a drinking stage
overall: this cork was pretty soaked as it was up to 75%, but not really soft, but still a stain level. Nice light gold color, this is certainly on the early stages of its drinking window, but considering how soaked the cork was for such a young white burg, there exists a situation makes this a White burg to drink earlier. Very classy with lots of balance that doesn’t neccessarily jump out of the glass, but more draws you in (93 pts.)
