TN: 2002 Vincent Girardin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix

2002 Vincent Girardin Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts-Doix - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (11/28/2009)
Nothing wrong here, but it’s a bit lacking, missing some depth and intensity I expect from a wine of this caliber. Shows good balance, some very nice earthy black tea elements, nice darker flavor profile, but needs another gear. Probably in an intermediate stage, hard to tell. (88 pts.)

opened one of these with lunch today, Alan sums the wine up very well, 9 years of extra age has allowed the wine to add a bit more depth and it has aged well into its secondary stage.
Very well balanced and a great luncheon companion (90pts) decanted for 90 minutes and the last glass was the best
