2002 Siduri Pinot Noir Sapphire Hill Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (12/11/2009)
Popped and poured to accompany salmon with a citrus vinaigrette, roasted brussel sprouts and a bulgur/lentil/hazelnut salad.
Nose is tart cherries, cranberries, forest floor, vanilla and spice.
Palate is a little tart fruited and lighter than the last bottle I opened. Lots of acid, tart cherry/cranberry fruit, smoke, violets and a little wet crushed stone. Medium bodied, fairly silky texture, short-medium finish. Very nice but I wished for just a little more on the palate. (88 pts.)
