2002 Siduri Pinot Noir Hirsch Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (12/4/2009)
Opened to accompany a porcini mushroom risotto with a drizzle of white truffle oil. Popped and poured and consumed over 2 hours.
Color is a cloudy medium ruby. Nose is very floral with cranberry, violets, a little hint of forest floor and spice. The palate is full with plenty of juicy acidity to keep it lively and impart a little bit of grip. More forest floor, red cherries and cranberry, wet stones and a little bit of earth and spice. There is a very faint hint of candied fruit creeping that I get on “older” CA Pinots. Still very nicely done. 91-92/100. (91 pts.)
