TN: 2002 Ruston Family Cabernet Franc Stagecoach Vineyard

Another nice wine from Ruston.

Pobega–need to check this one out. If I had more, I’d sell you one [highfive.gif]

2002 Ruston Family Cabernet Franc Stagecoach Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley (2/13/2009)
Pop and pour, should have decanted. Very attractive nose of red berry and cedar. Tight upon opening, slowly reveals deep red fruit, leather, dry, sweet tannins. Last glass was giving up soft cherry fruit, and a deep, spiced finish. I’d drink over the next 3 years+ if I had more. Fantastic with my ribeye and truffle mac and cheese. Another winner from Ruston.

Nice. I will check it out.

Yeah, Ruston often gets overlooked in the Napa scheme of things. Too bad too, they have some really nice juice. Thankfully, I still have 2 of these.

They are a bit of a hidden gem. Old world sensibility to their wines IMO. I like that.
