Opened and served immediately. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of violets, currants and berries. Flavors of berries, currants and plums. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink now. (90 pts.)

I popped an '03 the other night and my notes are very similar to yours, but with a strong streak of cola running through it as well. I was happily surprised by the wine as I figured it would really be on the downslope by now, but it was very much alive.
