Looking for a red to go with the grilled chilean seabass and asparagus we opened this. Popped and poured, drank out of Riedel Sommelier Burgundy glasses.
A nose of primarily (milk) chocolate with a hint of cherry and some earth. The palate was medium in body, milk chocolate, cherries, light earth.
Score: A
This was not a great match to the seabass, better than the 1997 Flowers Camp Meeting Ridge Pinot though, the 98 Flowers Porter-Bass was the right match for both courses. It was a pretty wine, what you look for, or at least what I look for, in pinot.
I have 1/2 the bottle left for tonight and will report back.
No rush in drinking this up.
